i knew it!
i'm not completely crazy! when the first of the lotr trilogy was about to come out, i freaked out at a poster. the first time i saw it, elijah wood was looking DOWN at the ring in his palm. when i walked past the poster a couple of weeks later (it was in the same spot too, those tricky buggers), he had now turned his gaze on YOU. creepy, i thought i had lost it, but i still swore up and down that the poster had changed. and now, proof! thank you, ebay, for proving i'm not completely nuts while i finish up some holiday shopping! <------------------------SEE?!---------- ----------------> | | Thursday, October 5th, 2006 | | 10:39 am |

whoa.
so, last night, i took the last wellbutrin. i actually have a doctor's appointment on august 21, and i thought it'd be a swell idea to start with a clean slate, medication-wise. we'll see how swell i think it is in a couple weeks, when my body will be completely free of antidepressants for the first time in years. ha. | | Sunday, May 14th, 2006 | | 2:54 am |

finally.
some pictures. nothing too exciting, and my geek tattoo pictures are really fuzzy (apparently my little digital camera has some difficulties with close pictures), but i know that jess, at least, will be happy... http://pics.livejournal.com/galaxiezero | | Friday, April 28th, 2006 | | 4:54 pm |
this is it.
i've logged out of everything but livejournal. after i do that, i'm clearing my history, my cookies, and my music off this computer. i wrote a goodbye e-mail, and actually made myself teary-eyed a couple times. it's not that i'm sad, it's that i'm hugely changing a part of my daily routine and life. there's a few people here that i was friendly with- not many at all, but a couple. so...this is it. goodbye, county computer. goodbye, county people. goodbye, everything i've established here in the past thirteen months. *sigh* time to start from the bottom again. i'm out. i need ideas! help??
okay. last night i went to my first meeting of what will be fresno's roller derby league, "the smog city roller rebels." it was lotsa fun, and even though i haven't been on a pair of skates in 15 years, i didn't fall once. ohh, yes. it's funny, i actually considered not going, because i was afraid i wouldn't know anybody, and that can be awkward...but it turns out that i knew several people! corie, korren, rachel, rayne, katie, aurora, and kim. weird, but i guess i really shouldn't be suprised. we already have a sponsor, and here's where i have a problem- we all have to have our "roller derby names" in before tuesday, because that's when our organizer is meeting with the sponsor. i've entertained a few ideas, but can't seem to find anything fitting. so far, i've come up with: ~katie kaboom (it's actually a reference to an animaniacs cartoon from years ago- nice and sweet, but prone to turning into a hulking beast with a bad temper at the drop of a hat) ~kill-lizabeth short (bad take on the black dahlia) ~lilly white (but i think i'd have to be paler) ...and that's all i've got. if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please do share! i'm desperate, and i'll consider anything anyone has to offer. have fun with it! if it helps, my name is katie (i don't know how many people on here know that!), i have bunny tattoos...uh...i don't know! help!! 1:05pm- oops, got distracted...it's now 1:39 pm...(i'm trying to think of and make out an e-mail to people i know/have worked with)- but how's "sakura sin" sound? i think it's rally best if you know the symbology behind the cherry blossom (sakura) in japanese folklore/tradition. whatcha think? i was cruising our area craigslist yesterday, and i saw a post for a free dog, including a picture of said dog. naturally, i was curious, so i clicked on it: http://fresno.craigslist.org/zip/154687348.htmlohmigod!!! will somebody please take this dog?!?!?! i know i mentioned him yesterday, and why i feel so strongly (beyond the obvious reasons) about getting this dog a good home, someone who will care for him- if he's anything like mine, he's guaranteed to have a great personality... i don't know if he's still available, but i'd love to see someone take him...(and believe me, if i could, i would, but i already have two-very spoiled- girls of my own) on a side note, i think i might have set some kind of posting record for myself today. meh. | | 9:19 am |

food poisoning, ahoy!
last night, i cooked dinner. yum. my mom makes this fried cabbage with purple onions that is typically very good (and so stereotypically german somehow). last night, i walk into the kitchen, and she's poking around at it with a wooden spoon. she said, "oh, i put that leftover bacon in it this time." "uh, mom?" i said. "that bacon's been open in the fridge for two weeks." she shrugs. "well, roxie smelled it and said that it smells okay." fast forward to this morning. i'm pretty nauseated, and on the way to work, i stopped by the house to take some tums to hopefully settle my tummy. i get there, and roxie's laying on the couch, moaning that she's been throwing up all morning. yuck. so i think that we both got a mild case of food poisoning- i think hers is worse because she's older...but mom seems fine. that woman has, like, a pig stomach or something, that can just decimate anything she puts in it. ugh. this pisses me off royally.
okay- i not only feel really bad for this dog because i have a strong feeling he's from the same litter as my dog (same age, habits, breed, exactly), but it's just bull. how can you say, "oh, i'm moving, and i can't take me pet with me?" that's b.s. to the highese degree. if you really cared about your pet, you'd find a place to accomodate them, even if you end up in an absolute craphole!!!! you don't just get rid of a family member that you're completely responsible for!! how is this any different from abandoning a child?! (can you tell this really gets me upset?) http://fresno.craigslist.org/zip/154687348.htmlgah. i hate people. you can see one of my babies in my icons- the one whose sibling (i believe) is being jerked around. i really hope he finds a good home, and an owner who loves them enough not to get rid of them just because they're moving... i had an "ah-ha" moment yesterday.
now, for those of you who may knit, you know the difference between continental and english knitting. (those who don't, check out www.knittinghelp.com) i'm an english knitter, but as it is known for being super speedy, i was intrigued by the continental style. i tried it, when i first saw it. couldn't do it. then yesterday (i believe), while i was knitting, i kind of did it almost completely on accident. i blinked, and looked...i did the exact same thing again, and realized that i'd just learned how to knit continental style. i might not actually use it...but there was a time when even purling, nay, knitting itself- was something i thought i'd never figure out. "constant vigilance!!" it's kind of sad, this is the most exciting development to take place in the last few days. on the plus side, i won't have to bring a lunch for the rest of the time i'm here- potluck tomorrow, and then one in my honor (i swear, i'm trying to care!!) on friday. tomorrow night should be interesting. looks like we might actually get this roller derby thing off the ground; tomorrow, i meet the rest of the girls involved. meeting, then some skating. i haven't been on roller skates in years...this should be interesting. but if i pair that with the yoga i'm currently doing (5 days a week, one hour a day), i should be a buff ass in a month or two. well, hopefully toned up a bit. i don't want to look like a bodybuilding contest participant. all greasy and hopped up on 'roids. ew.
